Today Thorn has made a few basic additions to the realm that make more sense when there is a large player base.
think If we build it they will come
First, we have the new command setprivate. This can be used to edit your privacy: allowing or restricting players who wish to goto you. Or it can be used on a location you own to restrict people from going-to it or taking an exit to it.

Next, we have a new command called setfriend. If you are in a private room that you own, or have turned your privacy on but want certain players to be able to join you, then put them on your list of friends. Of course, a list of friends begs the question: "what about enemies?". Well, you can use the setfriend to designate a player as an enemy and even decide to kill them on sight.

Of course, to make this all work, Thorn had to boldly modify the most basic of commands in cow: go and goto.
No doubt there will be other options in the near future. Maybe a 'partner' option for trusted friends, allowing them to get by your guards?
