You, dear cowillian, are no-longer trapped in a frangible limbo between not-knowing and blissful ignorance of the goings on around you.. when your not looking.
Now, when a tree falls and your not there to hear it, you will see it.. as a small flashing ! in your browsers title bar.
As always, if you have a cow window minimised while the little tick box ping 9,9 is ticked, it will pop up if something happens worthy of our attention.
However some would rather not have such an in-your-face method of keeping up-to-date with cow, so the new message alert has been born. It does however flash any time something happens in cow, so it is, itself, in a franglible limbo between subtle and demure.
Other breaking news, for the mildly technical amongst us, the material reaction search (finding a reacting object based on its code) has been tuned up a bit. What was taking a shocking 13 seconds to find material codes, is now a respectable 3 seconds. So those very long delays logging in and out are slightly shorter. Wolis will continue to tinker with these in the hope of bringing this time down yet again.. think ever hopeful.
This does mean the code that checks for reactions (when you push, say, use etc..) has been modified.. however it should all work as before. Please let wolis know if you notice any unusal behaviour.
Oh.. as a side effect of this, the ban on objects being able to trigger themselves into action has been lifted.. as it was an old antiquated rule put in place years before we had such nice things as future commands and loop limits. push me
One final frangible limbo that needs mentioning is the distinction between find and locate. Contrary to what I have written before,I have now reversed them so:
find finds as much as possible
locate prefers named objects and stops as soon as one if found
