You are in a Demon Bane

It looks to be a rather long chain covered with spikes at even intervals and ending in two particularly large spikes. About 3 links from the middle on either side are two larger unspiked links used as handles. This particular spiked chain is glowing with an unholy aura that sends shivers down your spine as it stimulates thoughts in your head of the deaths of millions of sentient being throughout the ages. You ask yourself: this things name implies that it is good, but this appears to not be so.... That can be answered with: It was forged by a powerful and insane demon lord who craved the death of everything around him, which were primarily demons. Thus giving it particularly more power against demons than anything else. But that does not mean that everything else given some protection from its wrath. Quite the opposite, it is adept at slaying anything that lives with almost the proficency which it slays demons with. It reserves special 'features' for them both. This artifact has a propensity for bringing its owner bad luck, usually the fatal kind.
