Just north of the combat training room (within the training shed), there is an arcane library filled with unfathomable knowledge. Although we have scarce hope of decyphering the ancient books of magic, there is one who can help us a little in our search for greater power.
His name is Zulphur, and he spends his days and nights in the library. He has found the secret of releasing a barrier to our advancement. If you find yourself unable to gain any further, then seek him and see what he has to offer.
Unfortunately, it is merely the first barrier that he can release. We can only hope someone will unlock further secrets before you have reached a second plateau.
If you are having trouble replentishing mana to cast your spells, then heed this rumour: Some goblins lurk around the second level of the combat school, and sometimes one holds a special enchanted ring. They are never alone. Be prepared, for they hate us with vengeance.
