Well I have completely forgotten what this book was to contain so I will make something up right now.
When chatting with others you can suggest something for them to say with the key word type: (yes thats followed by a colon and a space)
type: create a small mouse
or click: create a small mouse
You will have to enclose the text in square brackets when writting in or on an object
type: [create a small mouse]
(You can you use 'click' instead of 'type' if it makes more sense)
If you want to prompt someone to google something use
google: fish and chips
or search: fish and chips
You will have to enclose the text in square brackets when writting in or on an object
google: [fish and chips]
If you type a web address starting with iether www or http then it will become a clickable link.
When writing in or on an object you must use the link: keyword. No square brackets are required.

Optionally you can replace the URL with some alternate text with the vertical bar
link: dnw.dircsa.org.au/blog|here
To include an image in your objects (whem someone click on it to read or examine it) use:
img: http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/5173/rastanca5.gif
(as with all web addresses in cow, the http:// is optional)
As a side-note you can replace an objects name with an image:
read the command called imglook
read the command called imglist
read the command called imgmap
To embed a sound into an object, use its description to play the sound when someone looks in the room, edit the object for the sound to play when it is examined.
sound: http://wolispace.com/cow/sounds/click.wav
To direct someone to a wiki page try saying:
wiki: elephant
or about: elephant
When embedding in an object, use the square brackets as defined above
To prompt people to see some alternate words, from a thsaurus, use:
like: abashed
or find words like: sarcasm
If you want to embed an external website within your object (experimental and incomplete!!)
url: www.box.net
To give someone a link to find an object or set of objects use the find: word eg:
This was written by find: [wolis]
To provide a link to read another object use the view: word eg:
If you read the view: [coding manual] you will learn stuff
To include text from another object inline within the text of the current object use read: eg:
Here is chapter one;
read: [10101]
Here is chapter two;
read: [10102]
